Six Invitational 2021 has been Officially Postponed

Ubisoft have confirmed that they will not be able to hold Six Invitational 2021 this month in Paris. Earlier the French government banned all non-EU citizens from entering the country. The event has been postponed to a later date.

The company acknowledges the importance of the event, which is the pinnacle of the entire season. They believe that to ensure competitive integrity of an international competition, all teams must be in the same physical location. Ubisoft are currently evaluating their options and hope to reveal more details in the near future.

Earlier in January Ubisoft announced their plans that involved Six Invitational 2021 taking place in Paris on February 9th – 21st. The event was supposed to be held in a studio environment without live audience. The company was going to implement multiple securing measures, including self-isolation, mass testing and sanitization. Besides the competition itself, the event was supposed to include multiple reveals considering the game’s future.

The base prize pool of the tournament was set at $500,000, with a possibility of an increase to $3M through Battle Pass sales. The list of participants looked as follows:

  • Invited Teams: BDS, TSM, Giants, Cloud9, Liquid, DarkZero, NiP, Spacestation, oNe, Virtus.pro, Wildcard, Empire, FaZe, Oxygen, G2, MIBR
  • Qualified Teams: Cyclops (Asia), Mkers (Europe), Altiora (North America), FURIA (Latin America)
