NAVI Win ESL Pro League 14 and Intel Grand Slam 3
The grand finals of ESL Pro League Season 14 featured Natus Vincere and Team Vitality. The teams played all five maps, with both teams quite confidently winning their picks – NAVI emerged victorious at Dust II (16:10) and Nuke (16:11), while Vitality defeated their opponents at Inferno (16:6) and Overpass (16:7). The final map was Mirage, where both teams were almost on equal footing - eventually the map ended with a close 16:14 score in NAVI’s favour.
While winning a ESL Pro League is a huge success on its own, this victory means so much more for NAVI as it also makes them the champions of the third season of Intel Grand Slam. This gives them additional $1,000,000 on top of $195,000, which is their share of the EPL 14’s prize pool. Besides this event, NAVI earlier also emerged victorious at IEM XVI – World Championship, DreamHack Masters Spring 2021, and IEM XVI – Cologne. The Ukrainian team has become the third team to win an Intel Grand Slam – they have joined Astralis and Team Liquid.
ESL Pro League Season 14 was played online from August 16th to September 12th, featuring 24 teams competing for a $750,000 prize pool. The playoffs featured 12 teams in a single-elimination bracket.
